Green station access: selective access for recycling stations

WHY WE HAVE DEVELOPED GREEN STATION ACCESS

Separating waste at the source is important. Just as important is the distribution of this perfectly separated waste to the recycling centers.

Nobody likes to keep trash in their home for a long time. We don’t want to be bothered with the smell and mess. That’s why we rather take the trash outside. Sometimes we have waste  that doesn’t belong in the regular trash, such as metal, old electronic devises, bricks, furniture, clothing. This can take up a lot of space in our house because of their size. However, these materials are very valuable for recycling.

That’s why a lot of countries and cities have green stations. Green stations are recycling stations citizens can take this special type of waste to. Workers at the recycling stations make sure these materials will be separated with care. This way as little as possible of these valuable materials will be lost in the process of recycling.

WHAT IS GREEN STATION SELECTIVE ACCESS?

Besides living in a sustainable world, we also like to live in a neat and clean environment. In order to keep our environment clean, we have to find a way to make the waste separation and distribution manageable.

That’s why WSS has developed selective access systems. Just like the Barrrow Access System, The Green Station Selective Access give selective access to users by using a card.

HOW DOES THE GREEN STATION SELECTIVE ACCESS WORK?

Green stations are used by people living in different districts. To determine the area and the allowed visit frequency residents are provided with an access card for the green station which is scanned at the entrance. Thanks to this card we can do a lot of interesting things. Such as:

  • Depending on the needs of the city we can provide a list of addresses that make use of a specific green station, and the frequency of use.
  • We can also determine if the customers are civil users or industrial users.
  • We can reduce the use to xx times a year
  • By counting the user entering and leaving the green station we can reduce the amount of cars/ users on the premises. This way we can ensure safety.

HOW DOES IT BENEFIT YOU?

By separating waste, we’re able to recycle at the source efficiently. In this way the separated waste is useful and ready to be recycled. Recycling materials will cause CO2 footprint reduction. That is if we separate, distribute and recycle with care. That’s why we want to keep our recycling stations neat. In the end: our waste are materials to be used in new products.

Besides living in a sustainable world, we also like to live in a clean environment. By providing people with clear instructions and designated places to take their waste, we make sure waste doesn’t get all over the place.
